This online course package fully prepares students to sit for the Certified Healthcare Access Associate certification exam. This 123 contact-hour non-credit course bundle is intended for those who are new to the health care field and wish to work in a front-line registration position in a hospital setting.
The Overview of Electronic Health Records and Clinical Software course introduces students to the electronic health record (EHR). Students will gain a thorough understanding of both the terminology of EHR systems and the practical use of such systems in a health care provider office setting. Students will learn about problem lists, assessments, prescription/medication management, exam notes,
and diagnostic orders and results. This online 16 contact-hour non-credit course is appropriate whether the student is new to health care or is an incumbent health care provider.
The ICD-10 course provides students with an overview of the ICD-10 for both diagnosis and procedure coding. This course teaches how to use the appropriate reference manuals and guides to create diagnosis codes from the ICD-10-CM and procedure codes from the ICD-10-PCS. This 16 contact hour online course is developed to correlate to American Association of Professional Coders guidelines and is intended for medical professionals who are already coding and need to upgrade to the new ICD-10 system.
